Question by : Which is better for the economy? One new private job, or one new government job?
If we “need more jobs,” does it help to grow the public payroll? If public paychecks are sucked out of the private sector, do we not lose private jobs every time we add public jobs? Massive government regulation, spending and borrowing will kill the private sector, leaving us with what? Is there a hidden goal here?

The details may include about the basic qualifications, along with the salary range, the deadline for applying, along with the essential educational qualifications for the same.

Most of the employment opportunities with the government ask for knowledge, abilities, as well as skills pertaining to the sector. Almost all of the vacancies ask for qualifying examinations that are followed by interview. Some of the preliminary tests also include performance tests along with the psychological tests, which are the prime in the civil services. The central as well as the state Government jobs openings have a number of benefits that make them a better option than that of a private working company. You get the leverage over the work hours, which are flexible as well as less strenuous as opposed to the private sector. Question by Tashihuti: Why is government blamed for private job losses and unemployment in private sector?
Let’s keep the partisan demagogery to a minimum please. I just want to know why people blame the government for the private sector losing jobs and/or the private sector not creating new jobs. I assume there are no jobs because there is a recession (people aren’t buying stuff) and firms are shedding jobs. So what does the government have to do with people not buying stuff and demand going down? Correct me if my assumption is wrong. How is it the government’s fault and not strictly a private sector issue? Is the government just a whipping boy in this case?

Well, its an easy target. Many will blame high taxes for the reason the private sector is not hiring. But that is based on the assumption that a business that has tax savings will be able to hire or want to hire.
In many communities, government jobs are the major source of outside income. Shut them down, and the local economy will crash.

Article by Sana Butt

Government and Private Jobs have few similarities but lots of differences. This is due to their nature of operations, personal interests, external factors, priorities based on nature of activities, market approach, environmental conditions, national interests, international aspects etc.

Following factors are worth highlighting to consider the dissimilarities:

1.National Interests and nature of operations:During government jobs the individual or the entire organization has to work keeping in the national interest on top priority. In such jobs the activities are more pertaining to governmental or national types than profit making. Here government also support such organizations and jobs by indulging extra resources from various funds to keep them working and support government. Pakistan Television is a live example of such organizations/jobs activities where priority is to highlight government activities majorly, which is not the case in private television channels like Geo TV.

2.Revenue Generation:In private jobs major purpose is to generate revenue and add monetary value to the company. Sales, finance and project management expertise are preferred in such organizations. In open sector the jobs are selected/assigned based on the outcome an individual can contribute towards growth of the firm. The individual or board of directors (in most of multinational companies) wants multiplied return of their invested money. In government this concept is very rare as the money and resources are funded by government and the officials expect the job activities to be supporting their interests.

3.Political and personal factor:In political government most of the job activities are to develop political based assignments and involve personal interests. The job assignments are mostly fulfilling give and take scenario of government officers. In private sector give and take is also there but it is in the interest of both parties (i.e. giving and receiving enc)

• Important Note:In government activities we are wasting time and resources of government, which is ultimately coming from taxes and rights of our own poor people.
