Librarian Job Description

It is a valuable resource that is in great demand in our virtual industry as more clients understand the potential for good SEO. As article marketing increases online presence it also helps to classify the client as industry experts. Additionally, articles can reap a ‘better bang for the buck’ as they can be repurposed into blog entries, newsletters and press releases. Strategically placed, one article can have many lives.

I recently had a very intuitive consultation call with a potential client who was interested in blogging and article marketing. The client asked an interesting question, “How do you create topics for articles [when the virtual assistant is not familiar with the client's industry]?”

I have been asked this question on previous occasions by other virtual assistants as well, so I created a client questionnaire for VAs, which is available for download on my website.

Ideally, a virtual assistant partners with a client on an ongoing basis to develop a relationship where communication between the parties is maintained regularly. If the opportunity for a good partnership develops, the best way to write good articles for a client is to be privy to their business happenings. This occurs only through good, two-way communication. It is not unusual for a client to ask a question or share a piece of information with me, which can easily be turned into an article. Consequently, I’ll often reply with, “This can become a good blogging topic”.

Another means to develop good article topics is to ask the client to check his Sent Box. What kind of questions is the client answering to his own customers? Whatever information the client’s customers are asking certainly makes for great article topics. Give the readers what they want to know… write about what the customer is asking to know.

VAs, ask the client to send you urls to the online newsletters which are relative to your client’s business. I often subscribe to the same blogs, newsletters and ezines my clients read. This is another means to find great ideas for articles and blogs. One long-term client regularly sends me real estate articles from which I have been able to construct good articles. Keep them in a folder in your favorites entitled, ‘Blogging Topics’.

I often find subject matter on other people’s blogs which I send to my clients requesting that he respond with a brief reply. Sometimes the answers are a few lines which I can expand upon, while others are complete responses which I can post in varying blogs or article marketing sites.

A long forgotten source for good article topics is the local public library. I will often visit the library and sit down with several magazines and publications related to my client’s businesses. I jot down the publication name and look it up online when I return to my office. Ask the librarian for other sources such as newsletters and flyers which are not available online. The librarian is another valuable tool to good research…and, the librarian’s services are free!

If a virtual assistant is not familiar with a client’s industry, there are numerous means to learn about his business. Asking questions, creating Google Alerts with keyword relative to the client’s business and keeping abreast of the client’s products and services are other important options to good article marketing as a virtual assistant. The medical assistant job description is quite varying in its list of duties.  You would be amazed at what all a medical assistant position entails.

The duties of a medical assistant vary depending on the size and location of the office.  For instance, if it is a small rural office, probably the job description includes things like secretarial duties, nursing duties, phlebotomy duties and lab work.  Anything a large staff would do, the medical administrative assistant will be doing in a small rural office.

In a large office, however, duties will include things like greeting patients, updating patient charts, filing patient medical records and answering telephones. Scheduling appointments and arranging for admissions to the hospital also fall under the responsibilities of a medical assistant.

The medical assistant job description includes working a full 40-hour week which could include evenings and weekends depending on the doctor’s hours.  They also work with people every hour of each work day, so if you don’t like working with people, this is not the position for you.

Because the position requires so many diverse skills, training is quite extensive.  In order to get in, you have to have a high school diploma or a GED.  This will be required of most schools.  Employers will prefer that you graduate from a medical assistant training program with at least a certificate if not with an associate degree.

Further, in some states will require the passing of the state certified medical assistant exam.  This is because some states require the certification of medical assistants (CMA).

Clinical duties can vary depending on the state laws.  In some states, taking vital signs and charting can be done only by the doctor or nurses in the office.  In others, a CMA can perform these duties and quite often do.  The same goes for explaining procedures to patients and performing simple patient tasks.

State laws also stand over lab tasks.  Some states allow performing lab tests to be performed by medical assistants, while others do not.  If they are allowed, the CMA will not only draw the blood, but perform the tests.

One thing goes across the board, however.  That would be that regardless of the medical assistant job description or state laws, medical assistants should never be confused with physician assistants who not only diagnose but treat patients. Louis Zhang, Medicalassistantvacancies dot com

During the interview a candidate many get asked questions such as “can you tell us when you have managed to carry out a difficult task whilst under pressure?” and “when have you had to learn a large amount of job relevant information?” These type of interview questions are designed to assess whether of not a candidate already has the experiences that are crucial to the role of a paramedic.

The allied health professions generally fall into two broad categories, mainly – technicians (assistants) and therapists/technologists. Technicians are generally trained to perform procedures and are required to work under the direction of technologists or therapists. This part of the allied health field basically includes medical laboratory technicians, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapy assistants and respiratory therapy technicians. However, over the past few years, emergency medical technician (EMT)/ Paramedic has pulled the attention of many youths looking forward to making career in the allied care profession.

Lastly, determine your top three skills, and create different resumes for the types of jobs you are seeking. If one employer is seeking a military background-be sure that is a skill you highlight in your cover letter and perhaps place at the top of your resume. You have experience working on evacuation plans? Create a resume that you will send to employers who seek that skill first and foremost. You need to send the most appropriate resume to your targeted employer. Read the employer’s job description carefully, and educate yourself regarding the company or celebrity or executive.

There should be one or two training schools in your state that offers paramedic training. You should at least be a high school graduate to get accepted to one of these schools. As said earlier, should possess the mental capacity to undergo training. It’s because the nature of the job implies 24-hour duties and always ready for anything.

If you adhere to the adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure then your cover letter cannot go wrong. Use your cover letter to prevent the reader from getting bored and the prognosis is bound to be favorable. The opening paragraph should let the reader know something about you in a memorable way. It should also allude to your qualifications. Tell the reader how you find out about the position and mention names if you heard about it from a nurse or other health care professional at the facility. Connect yourself to the institution in a way that the hiring manager or nurse is not likely to forget.

Look at how you describe your job. For example if you work for the National Press you naturally give an insurer the impression that you are travelling at fast speeds trying to catch the latest story. However, in reality you may be an editor who simply commutes to and from work twice a day. So think about your job description and how it affects your costs.
