My husband is 20, I’m 21… he enlisted in the Army because we have 2 children, and where we’re from isn’t exactly the “land of opportunity”, so he did it as a financial means of supporting us. I know, this isn’t the BEST route, but it was a way from him to get training for a job that he could do OUTSIDE of the army, and get paid while doing it. He’s going through AIT right now, and he’s VERY depressed because he doesn’t want to be a part of this life anymore. It has it’s perks, but also disadvantages. He said he may be able to get out before his first 180 days are over. What are some good jobs (without needing a degree) that pay at least like $ 14 an hour? Some families are cut out for the military, others DEFINITELY are not. We had no idea what it would be like when he signed the contract. Any POSITIVE and HELPFUL comments are welcome. All others need not be negative and unhelpful.
I guess that some people are so intelligent that they are completely able to surpass the whole “serious answers only” thing.

Anyways, he’s fine with the work. My husband is a HARD worker. He doesn’t want to be away from his family, and who could blame him? What is so terrible about a guy not wanting to miss out on his wife and children’s lives? No one can ever prepare you for what the Army is going to be like.
