Question by : Which is better for the economy? One new private job, or one new government job?
If we “need more jobs,” does it help to grow the public payroll? If public paychecks are sucked out of the private sector, do we not lose private jobs every time we add public jobs? Massive government regulation, spending and borrowing will kill the private sector, leaving us with what? Is there a hidden goal here?

Quit worrying about the economy so much, enjoy life.
Private sector jobs.
Massive regulations is a false statement. When ever they use that term none of the CEOs can come up with a regulation that kill jobs. Funny how CEOs need to make excuses why they ship jobs over seas when the only reason is cheap labor.
One private job is probably better than one public job, as public jobs have to be paid for by the public. So if you increase the public payroll, the government must increase taxes to pay for that job. Add to that the fact that public unions demand so many high costs from the public sector, that the costs end up increasing exponentially. Lastly, public jobs are virtually impossible to fire a bad worker. So if you hire someone and they don’t do a good job, you can’t fire them, thereby leading to inefficiency and higher costs.
IT IS DEPENDANT AS PER THE STATURE AND NATURE OF ECONOMY…IN INDIA WE HAVE A MIXED ECONOMY A NEHRUVIAN CONCEPT WHICH GIVES EQUALTY TO BOTH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC PLAYERS.IT IS ESSENTIAL FOR ECONOMY AND A CONTROL OVER MARKET FROM THE GOVRNMENT SIDE.THE ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT OF PUBLIC SECTOR CAN REDUCE THE MONOPOLY OF PRIVAT PLAYERS.THE PUBLIC SECTOR WILL ALWAYS STOOD FOR SOCIAL WELFARE IT WILL GIVES A GREATER BOOST TO THE HUMAN INDEX IN ECONOMY.BUT MERE PUBLIC PLAYERS WILL DULL AND DISRUPT THE MARKET AND EFFICIENCY IN PRODUCTION..
BUT THE PRIVAT SECTOR WILL BOOST THE NO:JOBS…
in the name of efficiency govt can not shun its responsibility to provide job for poors. however private jobs more efficient
Machts nichts! A job is a job is a job and gets one more American upon his hindlegs.
You needn’t worry about ther private sector and so on, as even attempts to vreate an entirely State-run economy, such as Nazis’ or Soviets’ end by needing a private sector and things seek their natural level eventually. There is a saturation point for anything. It doesn’t really matter HOW people get employed and, when things were up and running, you never really even NOTICED that…so why try to put it back together in such premeditated and artificial ways? What does it matter HOW people get employed and start being able to spend and buy things again, or whther they are spending theior money “wisely” or whatever? You never noticed that when things were up and running, did you? Americans spent money on wasteful junk, toys and whiz-bangs and whatever…and it WORKED because they WERE spending money and keeping things MOVING! So don’t over-anal-yse things so much that nothing gets done…just get people employed any old how and, after a while they will shift into different industries –some of which do not even EXIST yet– and will move around, gradually fitting themselves into better and more suitable jobs…later!
